It's a supplementary yoga practice designed to be done 1-2x per week to undo the tightness and repetitive stress caused by running, cycling and sitting at a desk. Because of the repetitive nature of running, the muscles get tighter and shorter! We are using the same muscles over and over!
Think of the hamstrings - when we run, we’re constantly moving through knee flexion and hip extension (using the hamstrings) - if we don’t stretch, they get shorter and tighter which leads to a predictable trajectory - loss of mobility injury loss of movement and quality of life pain
It's STRONG and DELIBERATE targeted FLEXIBILITY and MOBILITY training!
The stretches are held between 2-5 minutes with a strong emphasis on relaxation in order to overcome the stretch reflex, switch off the nervous system and go deeper into the stretch.
For most runners, a 20 second (even a minute) stretch just isn't going to make any significant difference to the length of the muscle!
The practice is challenging and uncomfortable and you're probably going to have to modify the poses along the way!

Wednesday: 5:00-5.45pm (30 minutes) £5.00
*Or £7.50 for two sessions per week.
